JOB SUMMARY

The Water Technician will be responsible for maintaining the pool and water quality, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for park guests and employees.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assures the water chemistry in all areas of the water park is tested, recorded, and adjusted (if necessary) on an hourly basis during periods of operation. Backwashes all filters when required and maintains the proper level of water in all pools. Closes or shuts down any features for safety and/or emergency situations. Maintains a clean and safe environment in and around the water activity areas which includes: Pre-Opening Safety Checks performed on pools, water features and slides on operating days, pre-opening cleaning of pools and surrounding areas on a pre-determined schedule, end of the day cleanup in all areas of the waterpark, maintaining cleanliness of walkways, pool decks and landscape areas, management of bio-spills. Ride start-up and shut down dependent upon work schedule. Repair/maintenance of all rides and features during operating as well as non-operating seasons. Assures safety and equipment inspections are performed on a daily basis. Assists other Departments and Divisions in daily operations of the Water Park. Must be able to follow pre-established guidelines to ensure the safe and efficient condition of all buildings, ride/slide structures, signs, and other park facilities. Maintains a schedule of maintenance performed. Use a variety of material handling equipment, hand, and power tools in performing duties. Detecting faulty operations, defective material, and reporting those and any unusual situations to reporting leaders or management. HASMAT/Chemical Handling; following OSHA regulations. General knowledge of the water sanitation process. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Greet guests, visitors, and team members in a friendly and courteous manner. Provide excellent guest service. Keep a clean orderly work area. Maintaining an environment that keeps safety the number one concern for all guests, visitors, and team members. Ensure professional development to enhance work knowledge, skills, and abilities. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, expectations, and requirements. Ensure completion of work responsibilities and special projects in accordance with the designated time frame, as determined by the reporting leader. Adhere to company ethical requirements, demonstrating the utmost integrity in all professional and personal matters. Provide a reporting leader with feedback, ideas, and suggestions on a timely consistent basis. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

2 years in Water Parks Maintenance or work-related field

Certification/Licensure:

Must possess a valid driver’s license, Preferred or equivalent – Aqua tech Certification Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to present concepts in new ways and from new perspectives Must possess working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel. Ability to troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, holidays overnight events and weekends Must be able to maintain positive, respectful relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies, including team members, community leaders and senior management. Must have highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively. Must have a proactive, goal-oriented, can-do attitude. Positive and effective customer service skills. Must have good teamwork orientation. Be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

The team members may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The team member may use a variety of material handling equipment, hand, and power tools in performing duties. The noise level is generally moderate to high.
