Job Summary:
The Area Cleaner primarily cleans, dusts, polishesfurniture, disinfects hospital facilities, including patient andnon-patient care areas, removes refuse materials and hazardouswaste, moves furniture and equipment while restocking supplieswithin all facilities of the hospital.

KeyResponsibilities / Essential Functions1.
- Follows directionsand performs work according to department standards.2.
- Knowsand utilizes the 7 step cleaning procedure, scoring 85% or greaterupon inspections.3.
- Demonstrates consistent application of AIDETcustomer service principles when interacting with patient andvisitors.4.
- Cleaned rooms are left in a neat and organizedcondition upon readiness for patient use.5.
- Secures cleaningsupplies and equipment when left unattended.6.
- Follows properchemical mixing guidelines.7.
- Follows universal precautionprotocols and Infection Control procedures.8.
- Performs additionaltasks as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
Reading, writing and effective communication skills are required.
Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Must beable to work in a team structured fast paced environment.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
Someclinical cleaning desired but not necessary.
