Job Description

Thermopac Sanitation Lead 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars Stone Mountain, GA Sanitation Technicians are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the production equipment, machinery, utensils, and all production areas to ensure the highest level of food safety. Approximate hours 11p-7:30, must be available to work up to 7 days per week as needed. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Disassembles and reassembles the production line and equipment as necessary for cleaning
  • Cleans the floors of all debris and rinses thoroughly
  • Cleans air lines and hoses that feed the lines.
  • Removes and replaces equipment as needed to accommodate production set-up requirements.
  • Sanitizes production equipment in preparation for maintenance and production set-up crews
  • Cleans chemical room, process floor dry goods area, restroom and other work areas
  • Cleans wash buckets, trash cans, hand rails, and other equipment assigned by supervisor or manager until shift ends
  • Conduct Pre-Op Inspection/completes proper documentation
  • Coordinates with maintenance personnel and other sanitation crew the dismantling of production line and equipment in preparation for cleaning
  • Responsible for assuring plant is acceptable and cleaned prior to pre-operation inspection by AmeriQual and USDA personnel
  • Assist in scheduling sanitation personnel and sanitation work planning
  • Other duties as assigned
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years in sanitation department in food manufacturing environment required Familiarity with food safety regulations, HACCP, and SQF
  • Previous leadership or supervisory role in manufacturing setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to perform cleaning scrubbing duties using various chemicals and pressure washers in accordance with proper sanitation requirements
  • Ability to read and understand chemical labels and use general math skills to mix proper concentrations
  • Ability to follow all work instructions and safety procedures Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk and hear; use hands repetitively to operate tools and cleaning instruments; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions and with various cleaning chemicals is required.
