Job Goal:
The Custodian performs custodial maintenance and cleaning within the building and light grounds keeping on the building property.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Work experience as a custodian, familiarity with chemical safety, floor cleaning/care procedures and the use of appropriate machinery. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Must be a self starter and reliable.“`{=html}“

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prompt and regular attendance.2. Exhibits a professional attitude and demeanor at all times in working with administrators, fellow employees, parents, students and other stakeholders.3. Assure that the standards set for building cleanliness, basic maintenance and safety procedures are all met and maintained by the custodial staff.“`{=html}“`4. Actively participate in the daily cleaning maintenance activities required for the facility.5.
Areas of cleaning include:
floors, tile and carpet, windows, walls, classrooms, common areas, gym, lunchroom, offices, outside grounds areas, and others as assigned.6. Utilizes various equipment for scrubbing, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors.7. Prepare for and cleans up after events scheduled for the facility/grounds during the day and/or night.8. Monitors uses, storage, and inventory of supplies and reports needs to lead custodian.9. Keep records of periodic checks of equipment, fire extinguishers, playground items, etc.10. Assists the building principal/supervisor in general security of the building and fire safety.11. Preforms emergency cleaning as necessary.12. Perform various duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed move objects. Able to walk, stand, crouch, and climb ladders or perform various types of manual labor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the Systems approved salary schedule. Length of work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the System.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Principal in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of personnel.
