POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for our staff and members. As part of this team, you allow members and program participants to enjoy a sanitary and secure environment to pursue their health and well-being. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character – caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain the branch’s cleanliness and safety with a sense of urgency and prioritization (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.) Communicate maintenance needs, issues, and recommend solutions to Facilities Manager and Branch Manager Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks of the facilities as a means of preventative maintenance Ensure the fulfillment of goods in designated areas, such as paper towels, soap, sanitizer, etc. Empty and clean wastebaskets throughout the branch Arrange equipment in the custodial storage areas in a neat and orderly manner Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service Assist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCA Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers, and program participants Willingly perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS
Minimum of 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Must have the ability to operate cleaning equipment. Experience in custodial or maintenance work settings preferred. CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines.
