Job Description:

Schedules Available:
1st shift: 6 AM
- 2 PM 2nd shift: 2 PM
- 10 PM 3rd shift: 10 PM

AM Pay Rate:

Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate the grinder according to customer specifications, including installing drives, blocks, stands, and cables for proper roll support.
Locate and verify the correct roll using serial numbers and factory orders; stage the next roll for efficiency.
Install bearings and input CNC data including desired crown and taper measurements.
Perform initial grinding with a 36-grit belt and inspect for contamination or quality issues throughout the process.
Measure roll diameter, check hardness, and ensure all values align with factory order specifications.
Continue grinding with progressively finer belts to achieve the specified surface finish.
Adjust alignment and crown profiles as needed, checking precision with digital calipers.
Complete all required inspections, take final hardness readings, and print crown profiles for documentation.
Wrap and relocate finished rolls, then clean the grinder and prepare for the next job.
For regrinds, capture and document pre-grind crown and hardness data, then follow standard grinding procedures. Qualified candidates will have one year of related experience. Other requirements include experience measuring with micrometer and calipers.
