Shop Janitor Position Available In Berkshire, Massachusetts

JOB SUMMARY

The Shop Janitor is responsible for keeping the building ina clean and orderly condition.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Clean buildingfloors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming daily and asneeded
• Service and clean all restrooms
• Dust walls, machines andequipment
• Clean windows
• Follow procedures for the use of chemicalcleaners and power equipment
• Requisition supplies and equipment neededfor cleaning and grounds and building maintenance as necessary
• Removesnow from walkways using snow shovels and spread snow meltingchemicals
• Liaise with supervisor on problems to achieve efficientrepair
• Identify abnormalities and repairs required within the buildingand advise the supervisors accordingly
• Identify areas of processimprovement, cost and waste reduction
• Work in an efficient and timelymanner
• Undertake relevant training and development as required
• Carryout duties within a realistic time line ensuring that deadlines aremet
• Maintain cooperative working relationship and demonstratesensitivity to and respect for a diverse population

ADDITIONAL JOBFUNCTIONS

• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies eithermanually or by using hand trucks
• Set up, arrange, and removedecorations, tables, chairs and trash receptacles to prepare facilitiesfor company events and meetings
• Adhere to and carry out existing workpractices, procedures and policies
• Maintain confidentiality andobserve data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
• Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies
• Otherduties as assigned

EXPERIENCE

• Fork lift experience preferred
• Experience cleaning industrial/commercial buildings required

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

CERTIFICATIONS

• Ability tobecome forklift certified
• Valid driver’s license
