JOB SUMMARY
The Environmental Services Technician I at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for creating a clean and safe environment to support delivery of high quality care by performing daily and special cleaning that meets departmental procedure and safety and infection control standards. The Environmental Services Technician I remains adaptable and flexible to support team needs as they arise and participates in ongoing professional development.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs daily cleaning of assigned areas (patient rooms, bathrooms, emptying and cleaning trash receptacles, high dusting, sanitizing and spot cleaning, inspection and cleaning of empty patient rooms daily, washing and disinfecting hospital walls and ceilings) according to the standard operating procedures of the department.
Performs cleaning duties (including special cleaning and other area assignments) according to the standard operating procedures of the department.
Adheres to general safety and infection control standards.
Performs responsibilities in a timely, efficient, cost effective, confidential and professional manner conducive with the overall mission/vision of the hospital.
Performs other duties as assigned while demonstrating willingness, ability, and team spirit to provide optimal customer satisfaction.
Attends, demonstrates, and participates in required inservices, performance improvement activities (including EXCEL), and other educational programs.
