Day-to-day:

As a Floating General Cleaner you will report to the Project Team Lead who will assign the weekly project for which school the team will be working at . Once a the week is completed at a school, you will be assigned another school within the same district by the Project Team Lead and report with them the following week. Travel is not heavy , but ability to be able to report to different schools within the same school district week-over-week is essential. During a project you can be expected to do general cleaning duties, run floor equipment (we provide training), and perform additional floor care duties.

Shift Times :

12pm – 8pm, Monday through Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES

Dust Mopping Floors Mopping and Burnishing Floors (Buffing) Strip and Re-Wax Floors based on a floor care schedule Top Scrub as Needed Ensure all baseboards, corners, and edges are free of debris, and wax build up Sweep, mop, scrub, and/or vacuum floors. “Spot” cleaning carpets. Steam-clean or shampoo carpets as needed or if in the contract. Use electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish and spray clean floors (after receiving proper instruction and training). Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. The use of chemical agents as directed by the Supervising Officer in the discharge of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, after receiving proper instructions and training. ABILITIES/KEY COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

(Willing to train) Ability to handle heavy janitorial equipment/tools. Ability to lift up to 50-60 pounds as needed Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, proper storage and disposal methods, and techniques for cleaning. Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow verbal directions. Ability to work well alone, or with a partner or team. Reliable and punctual with a dedicated professionalism to job and duties. Able to adapt to changing schedules or routines. Excellent time management skills. Pays attention to detail when cleaning.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience; or knowledge, skills, and mental ability equivalent to 2 years of high school education.

SCOPE/COMPLEXITY

Ability to stand for long lengths, walk, bend, reach, stretch, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours. Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds, as necessary.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or combination of education and experience.
