Position Purpose/Summary:

The Floor Technician is responsible and assigned for the cleanliness of the physical plant and environment so that they are safe, attractive, and in an operative state at all times. The floor technician has primary responsibility for the maintenance of all floors. Essential Functions Dry mop and damp mop all areas as assigned. 1. Report any repairs needed to the supervisor. 2. Report any unsafe areas or hazards to the supervisor. 3. Report any accidents or incidents immediately to the supervisor. 4. Understand emergency equipment. 5. Maintain confidentiality. 6. Clean all rooms and public service areas using proper technique and precautions. 7. Remain cordial and tactful with residents, peers and, others. 8. Clean women’s and men’s shower rooms, and residents’ dining rooms as assigned. 9. Evaluate new floor maintenance products and systems. 10. Assist Environmental Director/Assistant Director in monitoring infection control procedures. 11. Replace laundry detergents, chemicals, etc., as requested. 12. Is responsible for performing all floor care as directed. 13. Transfer chemicals in a safe manner. 14. Participate in educational programs as required. 15. Reflect LSC’s mission, vision, values and customer service standards in daily interactions. 16. Complete other assigned duties as may be necessary for the orderly operation of the facility. Supervisory Responsibilities, if any: N/A Qualifications (Minimum Job Requirements):

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Previous floor/environmental experience, including operation of floor machines and related equipment preferred.

Specific skills/abilities:

Familiar with environmental concepts and standards.
