Full Job Description LJA Mission Statement:

The mission of Lake Junaluska is to be a place of Christian hospitality where lives are transformed through renewal of soul, mind and body. Essential Functions Regularly clean and maintain lodging area public spaces, including but not limited to meeting rooms, lobbies, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, balconies/porches, and parking areas to departmental and industry standards. Vacuums and cleans all floors and carpets in public areas. Dusts and polishes all furniture, keeps windows and doors clean. Scrubs, disinfects and deodorizes all bathroom fixtures. Support housekeeping staff as needed with laundry transport, stripping guest rooms, restocking supplies/closets. Support front desk/reservations staff as needed with answering guest questions, greeting/directing guests, and restocking/delivering supplies. Responsible for reporting to multiple locations on campus. When submitted by employee, mileage will be reimbursed if company vehicle not available for use. Must maintain professional appearance including wearing a clean, pressed uniform. Must be honest, reliable, and prompt in assisting guests through daily contact. Help create positive experiences and interactions with our guests. Communicate to leadership general maintenance items as needed. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and report any unsafe activities or conditions immediately to supervisor. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities A combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and a minimum of 1 year relevant experience. Hospitality experience strongly desired. Must have demonstrated good communication skills and a commitment to providing responsive and conscientious customer service. Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs, multiple task demands, and work structures. Ability to manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed in the time allotted. Ability to effectively present job related information upon request to customers, clients, and employees of the organization. Proven organizational skills and interpersonal skills are required. Must possess excellent hospitality skills and a strong desire to foster an attitude of “exceeding guest’s expectations”. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Performance/Success Factors Be punctual to work and other related functions. Performs well in a team environment. Complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner. Ability to prioritize daily tasks and events. Perform routine duties with minimal supervision. Provide leadership to other staff through work ethic and the sharing of knowledge and skills. Working conditions Moderate to heavy physical activity performing strenuous and non-strenuous activities with moderate to loud noise. Indoor/outdoor work. Frequently exposed to elements such as; heat, cold, wind, rain. Ability to coordinate work, frequently moves about, able to stand for prolonged periods of time, walk, sit, manual dexterity to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, talk to and hear and understand staff and customer requests, and also lifts or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Utilize tools for success such as housekeeping lobby cart, radio, etc. Must be able to work with a variety of chemicals, including pro-quaternary and bleach based products. Must have good vision to monitor the grade of cleaning. Able to identify and distinguish colors; ability to adjust focus, must have depth perception in order to reset rooms.

Work Schedule:
