## Job SummaryThe Custodial Technician will perform skilled work in the custodial department including everyday cleaning ofassigned facilities as needed for daily operations for Mitchell Community College.## Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleaning Restrooms
- Clean Desk, Counter Tops, Doors and Door Handles
- Clean Water Fountains and Sinks
- Empty Trash
- Clean Interior Windows
- Sweep Floors
- Vacuum Floors and Rugs
- Mop Floors
- Dust FurnitureRelated Responsibilities
- Assist with daily setups and teardowns for scheduled events
- Help with custodial responsibilities during mandatory events including graduations and seminars
- Move furniture as needed in classrooms
- Perform other duties assigned by their supervisor## Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience Requirements
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to begin daily tasks without waiting for instructions to do so
- Working knowledge of equipment needed to perform daily responsibilities
- Valid North Carolina Drivers License
- In addition to a standard MVR check, individual must pass insurance background check in order to operate any College vehicle.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Two years of general experience in Custodial workEquity in

Physical Effort:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to move for extended periods. The employee may carry up to 30 pounds while performing the daily responsibilities of this position.
Scheduling:
This is a full time position. Normal working hours will be Monday
- Friday 7:00am
- 3:30pm.
This will include a half hour lunch period.
Travel:
Local travel may be required, including between campus locations.
