JOB GOAL

: To provide leadership in maintaining a clean, safe, attractive, comfortable, and efficient school environment where students can learn, play, and develop.

J OB RESPONSIBILITIES

: Supervises, directs and works with the school custodial team in the maintenance of a safe, clean, and orderly facility Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean. Provides training to school custodial team members, as needed, in the operation of cleaning equipment and custodial practices and techniques Shovels, sands, or salt driveways, walkways, and steps as appropriate Keeps school grounds free of rubbish Performs such yard-keeping chores as weeding, grass cutting, tree trimming, and the like as necessary to maintain school property in safe and attractive condition Directs and assists with cleaning to ensure that floors are maintained in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation Reports all repair needs promptly to school administration, Custodial Supervisor and Director of Maintenance Reports immediately to school administration, Custodial Supervisor, and the Director of Maintenance any damage to school property Keeps an inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on hand, and requisitions such needed replacements from the Custodial Supervisor and/or the Director of maintenance far enough in advance so that they can be delivered in such time as will not hinder custodial duties or school operations Makes minor building repairs as he/she is capable Moves furniture, equipment, supplies, etc., within the school building, as required, for various activities and as directed by the school administration Complies with local laws, policies, and procedures for all custodial duties, including not limited to the disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste Inspects and test school equipment, electrical installations, and school machines periodically •Assists with the completion of maintenance tasks as assigned by the school administration, Custodial Supervisor, and the Director of Maintenance or his designee•Completes all other duties as assigned by the administration

Physical Requirements:

Must be physically able to operate vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooers, brooms, mops, leaf blowers, etc. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are for medium work.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT

12 Months; Work schedule to be established by the administration.
