Fitness Center Janitor Cambridge Village of Wilmington 75 Cavalier Drive, Wilmington, NC 28405 Full Job Description Cambridge Village of Wilmington, a resort style senior living retirement community, is seeking a Janitor for our Cambridge Fitness facility. Qualified candidates must have exceptional customer service skills and represent the company in a positive and professional manner when on and off campus. Job Summary We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our fitness center members. This role involves both performing janitorial tasks and helping ensure the quality of cleaning throughout the facility. Key Responsibilities Clean and maintain areas such as locker rooms, café, group fitness room, aquatic area, and cardio/weight room (includes dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, scrubbing, and polishing). Check aquatic chemicals and adjust as needed. Follow scheduled cleaning routines and community guidelines. Follow designated cleaning schedules outlined on the task sheet. Follow department protocols and quality standards in all cleaning activities. Keep all janitorial supplies and chemicals safely stored and out of reach. Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, carpet cleaners, and floor polishers. Handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow all guidelines in the Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed for safety. Properly dispose of trash, including hazardous or biohazardous waste, following community procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Strong time management skills. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Physically able to lift up to 80 pounds. Experience with general cleaning duties and janitorial work. Comfortable using various cleaning tools and products safely. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
