Custodian Pender County Government – 2.3 Burgaw, NC Job Details Full-time $32,044.48 – $39,655.04 a year 2 days ago Qualifications Entry level Full Job Description JOB Under direct supervision, the duties of this class involve the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and custodial duties in Pender County facilities and parks. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpetsWash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)Wipe mirrors and windowsDusts furniture, walls, and equipmentSecure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting up the alarmNotifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systemsMust be able to operate custodial/janitorial equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, floor strippers and other applicable cleaning equipment to maintain the cleanliness of the facility in which they workOther duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and substantial lifting (up to 70 pounds) is required; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and lifting, frequently requires tasting or smelling and occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions; work requires color perception; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arm’s length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires wet, humid conditions (non-weather), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to extreme heat (non-weather) and exposure to the risk of electrical shock; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
