Custodial Staff Member Position Available In Rowan, North Carolina

Custodial Staff Member Rufty-Holmes Senior Center Salisbury, NC 28144 Rufty-Holmes Senior Center is a private, non-profit agency providing wellness programs and activities for Rowan County’s older adults. The Center has a 20,000-square-foot building with eleven restrooms, five showers, one main kitchen, and two kitchenettes. The Housekeeping Associate is a part-time, hourly position that primarily cleans restrooms, showers, kitchen areas, and floor surfaces. The position is considered FLSA non-exempt and reports to the Facility Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

Sweep and mop tile and linoleum floors Vacuum carpeted areas Clean bathrooms, locker rooms & showers Clean kitchen areas Dust furniture Empty trash Vacuum carpeted areas Clean Kitchen areas Empty trash Assist with setting up tables and chairs for meetings and activities. Other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma, reliable transportation, good physical health Ability and skill in using cleaning supplies and equipment Ability to work independently with the completion of tasks in an acceptable time frame Ability to work well with staff, volunteers, older adults of the Center, and the general public

WORK HOURS 17-20

hours a week, hourly position, hours determined by the Facility Manager

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work in this position is physical, but heavy lifting is not required. The person in this position should be able to use a vacuum cleaner, brooms, and mops without difficulty and walk, bend, stoop, and lift light quantities of cleaning materials and supplies.

EXPOSURE CONTROL

Exposure to some hazardous materials through the use of cleaning and maintenance supplies is present. Exposure to blood or body fluids is possible but unpredictable with the administration of first aid and cleaning up in association with emergency response procedures.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Wages:

Negotiated at hiring; reviewed annually for adjustment (pay period is every two weeks)

Benefits:

Holiday pay if a holiday falls on a regular workday, per personnel policy
