HourlyFSLA status: Non-ExemptAs a Sanitation Team Lead, you will supportthe Sanitation Supervisor on guiding team members on the propertechniques of cleaning production equipment, machines and workareas of our food manufacturing facility. You will be responsiblefor handling and preparing cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, chemicalconcentrations, and handling and storing the chemicals. Thesanitation team lead is expected to report any potentialcontamination issues and any safety concerns that may arise as partof the sanitation process.

Essential Functions, Duties ℜsponsibilities

  • Provides leadership to team members to executecleaning and sanitizing to an effective level as instructed bySanitation Management
  • Partners with sanitation management totroubleshoot sanitation problems; recommending changes to improvesanitation policies, procedures, and cleaningeffectiveness
  • Ensures the necessary sanitation oversight andresources are available to fully support theoperation
  • Implements and promotes chemical/sanitation safetyprograms and safe work practices through active participation insafety meetings
  • Supporting the development of sanitation workersthrough effective training
  • Alerts senior management on majorissues
  • Perform daily sanitation of all processinglines
  • Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of thesanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace forall
  • Ensure product safety and product defense in theplant
  • Maintain and clean water lines
  • Coordinates all dailysanitation activities within the plant
  • Follows all GMP and HACCPprocedures that relate to cleanliness and product safety with thefacility
  • Responsible for managing and reporting need for supplyof cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaningprogram and in compliance with OSHA and all plantregulations
  • Assists operations to maintain the highest ratingpossible on all audits and inspections
  • Supports all Food Safetyinitiatives.

  • Instills a culture ofaccountability within the sanitation team
  • Demonstrates strongproblem-solving skills including root cause analysis, riskassessment and corrective action
  • Proven ability to work calmlyand effectively under pressure is required
  • Self-directed withthe ability to work independently as well as with groups
  • Abilityto effectively plan, organize and prioritize work
  • Ability totrain, maintain and promote a safe work environment
  • Read andunderstand HACCP along with FDA and OSHA requirements asneeded
  • -Proven ability to work in a fast-paced anddeadline-oriented environment is required
  • Flexible to workweekends, overtime, and holidays as needed
  • Proven ability tocommunicate effectively, appropriately, and respectfully with eachmember of the organization is required
  • Ability to adapt tochanging organizational and operational needs; ability to leadothers through change
  • Knowledge of sanitation processes andprocedures is strongly preferred.

Education & Experience

  • HighSchool Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in aleadership role or equivalent leadership training preferred.

WorkingConditions

  • Work is performed in a food processing plant with ahigh noise level, storage coolers/facilities
  • Position requiresworking around processing plant equipment
  • Must be physicallycapable of working extended hours if needed and in a wetenvironment, standing for long periods of time, and operatingprocessing equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 80lbs.
