Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

Cleans assigned public areas, patient rooms, ancillary rooms,operatingand exam rooms, office areas, and other areas according toestablisheddepartmental policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direct supervision of the Director Environmental Services and within established Catholic Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following essential functions: Completes the seven steps of cleaning procedure for assigned areas including: trash removal, high dusting, damp disinfecting, dry mopping, bathroom cleaning, wetmoppingand inspection. Strips, washes, and makes bed after a patient is discharged. Disinfects wheelchairs,stretchersand other equipment. Moves furniture to clean and replaces in proper location. Completes window,walland blind cleaning. Stocks cart and supplies for work areas. Maintains equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition. Refills and replenishes soap, toilet paper, paper towel and paper cup dispensers. Completes daily Environmental control checklist of areas assigned with discharge list. Reports any broken, missing and/or faulty equipment or materials toDirector. Maintains the accuracy of the Bed Status Maintenance screen. Cleans hazardous spills that may occur throughout the facility. Performs similar or related duties as assigned orrequested.
