Custodian Position Available In Rockingham, New Hampshire

Custodian Town of Derry 14 Manning Street, Derry, NH 03038 The Town of Derry has an immediate vacancy for a Custodian in our Buildings & Grounds Division. This is a morning shift position, 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Starting pay is $19.94 to $20.77 per hour’.

Duties include:

Responsible for semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to cleaning and maintenance of Town buildings, related facilities, and grounds, with a focus on the new Derry Fire Station. Duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning rooms, offices, furniture, washrooms, toilets, and special purpose facilities or rooms; cleaning floors; and the collecting and disposal of refuse. Additional tasks include plumbing, carpentry, mechanical or electrical work, light masonry work, and repair of damaged surfaces. Custodians also maintain an inventory of supplies, monitor building security, participate in snow removal activities, and prepare the buildings and grounds for the opening of each business day. Candidates for this position must have: A valid Driver’s License Six months to one year of custodial experience. Considerable knowledge of basic housekeeping practices in maintaining building cleanliness and good order; and the proper use and application techniques for cleaning products and equipment. Knowledge of basic principles of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical repair procedures and systems. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks with minimal supervision.
