Job Description
CLEANER DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
This is routine work requiring efficient performance of simple and repetitive cleaning tasks. The work is performed under direct supervision. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Sweeps and mops floors; Vacuums rugs; Cleans windows, walls, woodwork, tables, furniture, water closets, tubs and bowls; Replenishes soap, paper towels and other supplies as necessary; Empties waste baskets and disposes of trash; Varnishes, shellacs, and polishes furniture and brass; Moves tables and chairs to accommodate activities.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERICS
Good knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies and equipment, as well as the ability to use them efficiently and economically; Ability to understand and follow simple oral directions; Ability to get along well with others; Thoroughness; Dependability; Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
