Brooklyn, NY 11232 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a strong emphasis on quality and efficiency. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in designated areas. Maintain floors through buffing and polishing to ensure they are clean and presentable. Conduct custodial duties in both commercial and industrial settings, adhering to safety standards. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep. Handle residential painting projects when required, ensuring high-quality finishes. Act as a porter by managing waste disposal and replenishing supplies in restrooms and common areas. Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or maintenance needs promptly. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while performing all cleaning duties. Skills Proficient in floor care techniques, including buffing and polishing. Experience in custodial work within commercial or industrial environments is preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards. Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices is advantageous. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent time management skills to efficiently complete assigned tasks. Good communication skills for interacting with team members and facility occupants.
