Job Description
Building Porter Freeport NY Alexander Wolf & Co Freeport, NY 11520 Porter for a co-op in Freeport Must have vehicle for transportation to and from work Their main job is to make sure the building they work in is neat, clean and safe. They’ll spend most days: Picking Up Trash Sweeping Mopping Vacuuming Using Industrial Cleaning Equipment to Clean Floors Maintain building entryway including leaf and snow removal Complete minor repairs and building improvements Place safety hazard signs in the building (wet paint, wet floor, etc.) when required Monitor, clean and restock supply room Respond to spills or other cleaning issues Makes daily rounds of building and grounds to assess environmental needs or as assigned by Building Superintendent Snow Removal Assists Building Super in completion of projects as requested. Immediately advises Building Super or on-duty Supervisor of any occurrences outside the normal operating routine of the Residence. Maintain floor care as directed. Repairs and cleans equipment as needed. Empties trash according to established procedures and transports to disposal area as directed. Work as a team member with other staff members to consistently maintain a kind, caring and respectful attitude towards all shareholders. All shifts and job responsibilities may be subject to flexible schedules to accommodate the needs of the maintenance on an as-needed basis. This includes the rotational coverage of weekends, holidays and emergencies when the Maintenance needs dictate staff schedules and duties. Under unusual circumstances employees may be required to directly assist with the provision of care and service to the Maintenance s, including, but not limited to transportation, activities and other non-skilled, non-technical services.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required performing the job successfully. •
Education/Experience:
High School graduate preferred, related experience preferred. •
Language Skills:
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English; able to interpret common Maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from Maintenance s, Maintenance ‘s families, staff, regulatory agencies and general public.
Physical Demands:
Must be in good physical condition and able to move freely throughout the residence; must be able to crawl, reach, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; must be able to stand for long periods of time. • English speaking and ability to write is a must.

$17.00 – $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
