Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, responsible for the performance of general building and office cleaning; this includes sidewalks, steps, snow removal and other areas outside the Museum building.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Sweeping, vacuuming, use of cleaning compounds, operation of machinery including rotary floor machines, as well as the cleaning of the exterior Emptying wet trash/recycling receptacles and placing material into appropriate compactors or holding areas Cleaning of exterior areas which includes emptying garbage, sweeping steps, removal of debris and snow Cleaning of toilets, washbasins and other restroom fixtures and floors Cleaning from ladders, rigs Applying stain to floors May be assigned to heavy duty moving work Provide indoor and outdoor grounds maintenance duties as assigned by Buildings management Other related duties
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
General building and office cleaning experience Ability to do maintenance indoors and outdoors
KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION
High School graduate or possession of a High School equivalency diploma (GED) issued by the State of New York or certificate issued by the Armed Forces
