Job Overview We are actively seeking a dynamic Deckhand Lead to take charge of our cleaning team’s operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing and managing our cleaning crew to uphold impeccable standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our facilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the management team to ensure seamless and efficient cleaning operations. The Deckhand Lead holds a key position in enhancing the overall experience for our journeyers and supporting the crew and community at Othership. Supervise and lead a dedicated team of deckhands, effectively delegating tasks and responsibilities to ensure comprehensive cleanliness across all areas within prescribed timelines.
Facilitate comprehensive training sessions for newly onboarded deckhand crew members, focusing on imparting detailed knowledge of cleaning procedures, adherence to safety protocols, and proficient utilization of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Enforce strict adherence to prescribed cleaning protocols among all deckhand crew members, while diligently maintaining the operational condition of cleaning equipment and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Maintain meticulous records pertaining to cleaning schedules, inventory levels, and maintenance activities, fostering an environment of accountability and efficiency.
Conduct regular and thorough inspections of facilities, conducting audits to guarantee the meticulous upkeep of all spaces and promptly addressing any discrepancies.
Effectively manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and cleaning products, ensuring seamless operations through timely replenishment and strategic procurement.
Optimize cleaning schedules and procedures, continuously striving for enhanced efficiency and efficacy in all aspects of operations.
Proactively address and resolve customer complaints or issues related to cleaning operations, prioritizing customer satisfaction and retention.
Foster collaborative relationships with other departments, ensuring alignment of cleaning operations with broader organizational objectives and requirements.
Support the development of comprehensive training protocols covering all facets of facility maintenance, empowering team members with the knowledge and skills required for exceptional performance.
Identify opportunities for process improvement within cleaning operations, proactively recommending and implementing changes to enhance effectiveness and streamline workflows.
Participate in weekly leadership meetings, providing insightful updates on the status of facilities and team performance while actively contributing to strategic discussions and decision-making processes.
Physical Requirements
Able to work on your feet for 8 hours
Able to move, pull carry or lift 30 pounds
Must be able to kneel, bend, reach, climb and stand for long durations of time
Able to work in an environment with large temperature variations
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in cleaning or janitorial services, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory capacity, demonstrating a track record of excellence in managing cleaning operations.
In-depth expertise in cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and the safe handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory standards.
Proven experience in effectively supervising and leading a team of cleaning personnel, adept at assigning tasks, providing guidance, and upholding stringent cleanliness standards across all operational areas.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships and effectively liaise with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
Strong organizational acumen and problem-solving capabilities, enabling proactive identification and resolution of operational challenges while maintaining operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Proficiency in maintaining comprehensive records and generating detailed reports pertaining to cleaning schedules, inventory management, and performance metrics, facilitating informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Flexibility to accommodate variable work schedules and adapt to evolving operational requirements, demonstrating a commitment to ensuring the seamless execution of cleaning operations at all times.

Compensation
$18-21 per hour based on experience
