For the Porter role at La Farine Pâtisserie et Café , we’re looking for diligent individuals dedicated to maintaining the bakery’s cleanliness and order. Responsibilities include cleaning workspaces and customer areas, washing dishes and utensils, ensuring sanitation standards are met, and packaging baked goods, all vital for the operational excellence of our Upper West Side establishment.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
Conduct thorough cleaning and routine maintenance of all baking equipment and workspaces, ensuring a hygienic and efficient baking environment. Keep the customer area tidy and well-organized, creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. Manage dishwashing and the cleaning of utensils, maintaining high sanitation standards to support the bakery’s culinary activities. Uphold the bakery’s cleanliness and sanitation standards, ensuring all areas, from the kitchen to the sales floor, meet health and safety regulations. Assist in the packaging of baked goods for sale, ensuring products are presented attractively and in accordance with quality standards.
Skills & Requirements:
Strong work ethic and reliability. Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy items. Attention to cleanliness and detail for maintaining premises. Basic maintenance skills for equipment and facility upkeep. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Flexibility with shifts, including early mornings, nights, and weekends. Food Protection Certification is a plus.
Shifts Needed:
Full-time:
4 – 5 shifts per week; morning, evening, and weekend availability (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) required.
Part-time:
2 – 3 shifts; we require availability for at least 3 shifts to ensure scheduling flexibility.
Compensation & Benefits:
$17-$19/hour Paid time off (full-time position only). The salary range is based on meeting the job description qualifications. Applicants not fully meeting these criteria are still encouraged to apply, but should note that their salary offer may differ from the stated range.
