$29.77 – $29.77 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Under general direction, the Porter A will primarily be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Columbia University apartment buildings and grounds area. Responsibilities Specific job duties will be to clean and maintain building and grounds complex -elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms, vacant apartments and offices (occupied, or unoccupied), etc; Trim trees and shrubs; fertilize, seed and mow lawn; Sweep and hose sidewalks, and remove snow and spread salt as needed. The incumbent will also perform other related duties as assigned. Heavy lifting may be required. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency certification required. Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance a plus. Excellent communication skills necessary. Applicant’s resume and application must be up-to-date.
