Must be fluent in electronic work order systems, perform all Heavy Cleaner II duties, and additional duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with and lead Building Services employees in their day-to-day responsibilities. Participates as a communication source in the adherence of work performance, service quality and customer satisfaction. Maintains adequate stock of cleaning products. Ensures that maintenance items are reported using the current CMMS system. Ensures that appropriate methods, materials, and equipment are utilized. Orients new or relocated employees to duties, work areas and work schedules. Performs full range of Heavy Cleaner responsibilities daily and as required by employee absence or departmental needs. Sweep, mop, scrub, strip and polish floors as required. Clean, dust and disinfect furniture, fixtures or equipment as required. Clean glass as required. Wash walls as required. Move supplies and equipment to accommodate cleaning or to set up areas for events as required. Performs heavy furniture moves and setups in areas as directed by management. Collects and removes all rubbish and recyclables to appropriate areas as required. Polishes metal fixtures or trimmings as required. Replaces incandescent/fluorescent luminaries while working at floor level in desk lamps, floor lamps and wall lights in offices and vacant student rooms during the summer as required. Changing incandescent/fluorescent luminaries as required. Secures assigned areas after work is completed as required. Cleans and clears all entrance ways outside of buildings as required. Works from extension, scaffolding or A-frame ladders of any height as required. Spreads snow/ice melting agents and broom/squeegee snow as required. Snow removal/shoveling as required. Completes other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma, vocational diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. Previous Experience in leading Building Service employees. Display proven ability to lead by example through all aspects of job performance while playing a principal role in Facilities and University endeavors. Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: Electronic communication, computer competence, knowledge of cleaning materials and methods; ability to use scaffolds and ladders in excess of six feet; ability to handle heavy trash disposal; ability to wash windows and walls; ability to work well with others; integrity; dependability and willingness to handle prescribed related work as required. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community. Ability and willingness to contribute actively to the mission of the University and to respect the Spiritan Catholic identity of Duquesne University.
