Description
OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB
To clean and maintain assigned areas, buildings, facilities and grounds within the County.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB
1. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs or polishes floors.
2. Collects and properly disposes of trash, garbage and recyclables.
3. Unloads, moves supplies or items to/from proper or designated locations.
4. Removes snow and cuts grass as required.
5. Assists in securing buildings and assuring that windows and doors are properly secured and lights are turned on or off as required.
6. Replaces light bulbs as needed and makes minor maintenance repairs.
7. Reports major problems or breakdowns to Supervisor.
8. Operates cleaning equipment.
9. Assists in performing errands as needed, i.e., post office, etc.
10. Assists with painting or wall washing as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS A. EDUCATION/TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent.
B. WORK EXPERIENCE
None; 6-12 months working experience in custodial environment preferred
