Job Description

Sanitation – 1st and 2nd shift available 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Lancaster, PA 17603 POSITION SUMMARY The Sanitation Operator reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and assures efficiency by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in manufacturing areas to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. For this role is required to work overnight, and weekends as needed. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to perform well on any of the assigned tasks. The candidate will be a team-focused individual who is passionate and driven to deliver best in class performance and continuously improve what and how we do our work to ensure business success. The individual is driven by teamwork and easily works cross functionally. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, workspaces, and facilities to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Cleaning and Sanitizing:

Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of manufacturing equipment (e.g., mixers, kettles, conveyors) production lines, and work areas. Use appropriate cleaning agents and methods to ensure all surfaces, tools, and machinery are free from contaminants and allergens.

Waste Management:

Dispose of waste materials according to company policies and environmental regulations. Manage and handle hazardous materials safely, following proper procedures for disposal and storage.

Compliance and Documentation:

Adhere to company sanitation protocols and industry regulations to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, including dates, times, equipment cleaned, and chemicals used.

Equipment and Supplies:

Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers. Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages or needs to the supervisor.

Safety and Health:

Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Report and address safety hazards, ensuring compliance with OSHA and GMP standards. Report any maintenance or repair issues identified during cleaning to the appropriate personnel.

Collaboration:

Work closely with production and maintenance teams to coordinate cleaning schedules and minimize disruption to manufacturing operations. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding sanitation issues and concerns.

End-of-Shift Cleanup:

Thoroughly clean and sanitize machinery, pre-batching areas, and workspaces to maintain a safe and organized environment for the next shift.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management Maintain a safe and clean workspace Follow established safety rules and regulations Ensures safety in the workplace by adhering to and making sure to follow the companies’ safety policies and procedures, addresses concerns immediately. Adheres to GMPs, policies and procedures and ensures the team follows them too. Ensures key quality parameters and all/every Critical Control Point verification and documentation in his/her area of work. Actively looks for and identifies opportunities for improvement and efficiency.

$21.00 – $22.50 per hour
