GENERAL SUMMARY:
Working under the direction of the Janitorial Supervisor, the Custodian cleans an assigned area in a safe and efficient manner while attending to the janitorial needs of the individuals working in that area.

EDUCATION
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Six (6) months of custodial experience is preferred.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Must be cleared to work in the building assigned. This clearance obtained is determined by the contact requirements and may include the following: personal references, criminal record, child abuse clearance, etc. Ability to walk a minimum of 1 mile per eight (8) hour shift. Ability to ascend and descend stairs throughout eight (8) hour shift. Needs to be able to work a flexible schedule work time. Good communication skills and interpersonal skills are desired. Must be able to provide excellent customer service. Will become competent in areas designated by program policies. Is to adhere to established company and program policies and procedures related to safety and infection control. Must be able to walk to various buildings on Tobyhanna campus as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Moderate Work:
duties require exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift), and/or up to 10lbs. of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, etc., for eight (8) hours shift while operating buffing machine, wet vacuum, shampooer’s, etc., required. Must be able to travel to various Allied facilities as required.
ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS
Occasional exposure to blood spills. Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and body substances. Occasional exposure to various chemicals and cleaning agents.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normally within office environment or manufacturing environment.
