Custodian Position Available In Aiken, South Carolina

The Custodian Worker is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure the building remains clean, organized, and in good condition on a daily basis. This role also includes assisting with unloading donations, moving furniture, setting up meeting spaces, and handling minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain the upkeep, neatness, and cleanliness of the building
• Assist in unloading and carrying donations and other Salvation Army materials
• Assemble and move office furniture, including chairs, desks, tables, and bulletin boards
• Assist with setting up meeting rooms, including arranging tables and chairs, and preparing refreshments as needed
• Open and close the building as scheduled, raise and lower flags daily, and display special signs when necessary
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
• Use and maintain cleaning and maintenance equipment and tools safely and effectively
• Use a company vehicle to visit local sites to investigate minor maintenance issues and determine if a vendor is needed.
• Maintenance experience is preferred but not required
• Physical Requirements
• Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work, including lifting and carrying heavy objects
• Ability to engage in continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing
• Ability to exert the physical energy required for janitorial and maintenance duties.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Strong attendance and reliability
• Basic reading, writing, and communication skills in English
• Experience in janitorial or maintenance work is preferred but not required.

• Position Hours
• Monday to Thursday 9:00 am-4:00 pm and Friday 9:00am-1:00pm.
