Responsibilities Base Custodians are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing services in compliance with federal and contractual standards. Duties include, but are not limited to: Disinfect and sanitize rooms in assigned areas Clean and sanitize stairwells, hallways, lobbies, and elevators Remove trash and recyclables Replenish consumable supplies (toilet paper, hand towels, soap, etc.) Wash interior windows and glass door panels Clean air vents and grills Sweep, mop, and maintain all flooring surfaces Keep cleaning equipment in good condition and report any needed repairs Report damages or maintenance issues related to facilities, furniture, or fixtures Participate in special cleaning projects as directed Perform other duties as assigned under the scope of the contract Requirements Must pass a federal background check Must be able to speak, understand, and write English Must possess a valid driver’s license

Note:

This is a civilian job; no military service or enlistment is required. Compensation & Benefits Full-Time Custodian Days (Charleston AFB – 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Mon-Fri) Part-Time Custodian Nights (Charleston AFB – 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM, Mon-Fri)

Pension Contribution:

An Additional $1.30/hour is paid to the pension fund

Paid Holidays:

13 federal holidays annually

Sick Leave:

6 days after the first year (Charleston AFB) 12 days/year after that (all locations)

Vacation Leave:

1 week after the 1st year 2 weeks/year from year 2 to 5 3 weeks/year from year 5 to 10 4 weeks/year thereafter

Union Membership:

Eligible after a 90-day probationary period
