This position focuses on cleaning and maintaining the common areas only — no entry into individual resident units is required.

Position Summary:

As a Custodian, you’ll help ensure the apartment community’s shared spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, guests, and staff. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable working around older individuals in a respectful and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize common areas including lobbies, hallways, elevators, laundry rooms, community restrooms, and lounges Empty trash and recycling bins in public spaces Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces as needed Wipe down handrails, door handles, and other high-touch surfaces Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the property manager Follow all safety and cleaning protocols, especially in a senior-living environment Provide a courteous presence while working in and around resident-access areas

Qualifications:

Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or custodial experience preferred Comfortable interacting respectfully with older residents Ability to work independently and efficiently Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform repetitive cleaning tasks Strong attention to detail and reliability Must pass background check and drug screening

Schedule:

8 hour shift Day shift Evening shift Holidays Monday to Friday Overtime Weekends as needed
