Essential Functions

• Communicate with clients and MCLinc laboratory staff in advance of sample receipt as needed
• Accept samples from clients and confirm sample details match the client chain of custody; contact the Radiation Safety Officer if samples are radioactive contaminated
• Complete a chain of custody if not present with delivery and with client approval
• Assign MCLinc Project ID and MCLinc sample numbers; complete Project Information Form including sample analysis information and distribute Project information to laboratory staff
• Direct questions concerning samples and analysis from clients or laboratory analysts to the Laboratory Manager, Project Manager or Quality Manager
• Complete third-party chain of custody for sample analyses t be subcontracted with input from the Laboratory Manager or Project Manager
• Assemble project file for each project sample group; prepare and email sample receipts to client for client that require
• Inform laboratory analysts of rush samples received and deliver samples to appropriate laboratory
• Monitor all packages received by common carrier to confirm if sample shipment is present
• Enter Sample Project details in the Status List which keeps track of all Sample Projects
• Enter Sample Project in QuickBooks for billing purposes Additional Functions
• Ensure confidentiality of client organization and MCLinc proprietary information
• Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours Perform other duties as required Minimum Training & Qualifications No previous related experience is necessary to be hired into the Sample Custodian position.

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required to be hired into the Sample Custodian position. An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position may be considered. Specialized Knowledge Successful completion of Radiation Worker 2 training provided by MCLinc and other training as required. Competencies

He or she must regularly speak to convey or exchange information; read a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, methods, and procedures; write with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech; and stoop and bend to lift tools and equipment Occupational Hazards The position does not perform duties under hazardous conditions, but the Sample Coordinator/Custodian must don personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and use a chemical fume hood when handling samples. Other Information Laboratory experience is a plus. Salary commensurate with experience.
