Janitorial Worker Greater Middle Baptist Church 4982 Knight Arnold Road, Memphis, TN 38118 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks efficiently. Duties Perform custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in church facilities settings. Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas by regularly sanitizing surfaces and restocking supplies. Conduct floor care activities to ensure they are well-maintained. Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel. Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use. Act as a porter by assisting with the movement of furniture or equipment when necessary. Requirements Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred but not required. Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and maintenance is a plus. Ability to perform industrial cleaning tasks safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments. Good physical stamina; ability to lift and move objects as needed during cleaning tasks. Familiarity with residential painting is an advantage but not mandatory.
