Custodian First Baptist Church Bluff City 223 Main Street, Bluff City, TN 37618 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks effectively. Duties Perform custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to maintain cleanliness. Conduct industrial cleaning tasks as needed, ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards. Carry out floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to keep surfaces in excellent condition. Maintain cleanliness in common areas, restrooms, and offices by regularly emptying trash cans and sanitizing surfaces. Collaborate with the facilities maintenance team to address any cleaning or maintenance needs promptly. Serve as a porter when necessary, assisting with the movement of furniture or equipment during events or maintenance activities. Requirements Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment is a plus. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively. Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. A proactive attitude towards maintaining facilities and ensuring a clean environment for all users.
