The Expediter plays a crucial role in ensuring that food orders are prepared and delivered efficiently and accurately. This position requires strong organizational skills, a passion for food service, and the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff to maintain high standards of quality and presentation. Responsibilities Coordinate the flow of food orders from the kitchen to the dining area, ensuring timely delivery. Assist in meal preparation by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to menu specifications. Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure that all food items meet safety and quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Utilize proper food handling techniques to ensure compliance with health regulations. Support menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other food preparation tools. Assist in training new dietary aides or kitchen staff as needed. Skills Experience in meal preparation within a restaurant or food service environment is preferred. Knowledge of dietary department operations and menu planning is a plus. Proficient in food handling practices to ensure safety and quality. Strong knife skills for efficient food preparation.
