In this role, you will support the kitchen staff in food preparation and ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness, contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. Duties Assist in meal preparation by chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes as directed by the cook or chef. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure that all food is handled and stored correctly. Support cooks in cooking tasks as needed, including monitoring cooking times and temperatures. Organize and restock kitchen supplies to ensure efficient workflow during service. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other food preparation tools. Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment and assist with any additional tasks as required. Skills Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory. Basic knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food handling practices. Familiarity with food safety standards within the food industry. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team. Willingness to learn new skills related to cooking and kitchen operations.
