Job Description
Stewarding Supervisor John’s Island Club 3 Johns Island Drive, Vero Beach, FL 32963 John’s Island Club is seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout all kitchen areas. This full-time role supports the Executive Kitchen Steward and ensures the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, dishes, glassware, utensils, and equipment, while leading and developing the stewarding team.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for daily cleaning and sanitation of all dishware, cookware, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas. Ensure all cleaned items are properly sanitized and stored in designated areas. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen walls, doorways, ovens, stoves, and surfaces both above and below kitchen equipment. Clean and polish table tops, serving areas, and storage areas; ensure all areas meet sanitation and presentation standards. Ensure cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, mop buckets, and brushes are cleaned and stored correctly after each use. Monitor and report inventory levels of China, glassware, and flatware. Oversee and participate in the removal of trash throughout shifts. Report maintenance issues and coordinate with pest control as needed. Supervises and supports utility staff.
What We’re Looking For:
1 – 3 years of supervisory experience in a hotel, private club, or high-volume kitchen environment. Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to supervise, train, and motivate a diverse team. Bilingual Haitian Creole a plus. Knowledge of sanitation standards and kitchen utility operations. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., perform manual tasks, and work on your feet for extended periods.
