Open Availability Requirements:

• Must be able to work early morning shifts of the day and various days of the week. Be authorized to work in the United States and Pass a criminal background check. Stand upwards of 8 hrs. per day and lift up to 50 lbs. • Food handlers

Certification Listening Skills:

Prep cooks need to be able to hear and understand specific instructions from their chefs.

Manual Dexterity:

Prep cooks will be using their hands to cut and chop food, as well as other tasks.

Stamina:

Everyone in the kitchen works long hours on their feet over hot stoves and grills. Stamina is needed.

Duties and Responsibilities Food Prep/ Cook Weigh or measure ingredients, for recipe, portioning and production Prepare fresh ingredients, including produce, grains, pulses and sauces Cut or grind meats, poultry, and seafood in preparation for cooking them Prepare ingredients according to recipe standard Strong understanding of basic cooking methods and ability execute them with minimal error Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage Take and record the temperature of food and food storage areas Assist with record keeping of recipes and recipe changes Update production logs to ensure an accurate product count. Basic math skills to keep inventory updated and product stocked. Produce edible goods on a scheduled timeline to improve productivity times and meet quotas while maintaining a sanitary work environment. Maintain clean work spaces and equipment to meet health and safety standards. Fill orders and check products to ensure accuracy and quality according to food safety regulations Qualifications Must have common knowledge of professional kitchen equipment Must have common knowledge of kitchen ingredients Must have strong common sense Strong team player Must be reliable, honest and trust worthy
