Kitchen Consultant – Short-Term Project (Immediate Start) Ami Ami Coral Gables, FL 33134 • Hybrid work Job Overview We’re opening a new café-restaurant-retail-galery in Coral Gables and are seeking a freelance kitchen consultant to help finalize equipment and layout decisions ahead of our buildout. This is a short-term project (estimated 10-15 hours), ideal for someone experienced in restaurant openings, kitchen planning, or chef consulting. The role begins immediately, and work should be completed within 1-2 weeks. You’ll collaborate with our team, review our draft menu and kitchen layout, and provide clear recommendations on equipment and workflow that align with our culinary goals. Responsibilities Review the draft menu and proposed kitchen layout Advise on appropriate commercial kitchen and bar equipment selection Suggest layout improvements for a smooth and efficient workflow Visit the site (Coral Gables) at least once to assess the space and ensure recommendations align with real conditions Deliver recommendations clearly, efficiently, and within the agreed timeframe Skills Experience consulting on restaurant kitchen design or buildouts Understanding of commercial kitchen operations, equipment sizing, workflow and layout efficiency Are comfortable working with full cooking setups Familiarity with Miami-Dade or Florida health/building codes (preferred but not required) Available immediately and able to complete recommendations within 1-2 weeks Please send a brief introduction along with your résumé or portfolio.
