Summary Nutrition Utility Worker performs food service delivery and sanitation work within a hospital setting. Work involves assistance to cooks, dieticians and other personnel in performing a variety of patient, cafeteria and catering food preparation, service and sanitation duties. Employees in this classification are required to observe established sanitary standards in the housekeeping of the work area in the cleaning of related equipment utensils and in personal hygiene. Work is performed under the general supervision of cooks, dieticians or other supervisory personnel who inspect work in progress and review results obtained. Responsibilities Delivers and picks up food carts at designated times. Maintains work area in a clean, neat and orderly manner. Washes all pots, pans, trays, utensils and other materials used for preparation and service. Delivers and stores food and supplies in various areas. Performs cleaning and mopping (floors, walls, vents, refrigerators, ovens, etc.). Cleans and sanitizes movable equipment (carts, rolling racks). Disposes of trash, boxes, and garbage as needed. Performs the duties of nutrition worker as needed. Responds and cooperate with changes in workload Knowledgeable of, observes and complies with the Jackson Health System policies and procedures as well as with the Food and Nutrition Services policies and procedures. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned. Experience Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience. Education High School diploma is strongly preferred.
