The Expediter plays a crucial role in ensuring that food orders are prepared and delivered efficiently, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service. Responsibilities Coordinate food orders between the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely delivery. Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed, adhering to food safety standards. Buss tables and assist with cleaning duties to maintain a tidy dining area. Communicate effectively with cooks, servers, and management to address any issues or changes in orders. Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and report shortages as necessary. Ensure that all food items are presented attractively before serving. Support the kitchen team during busy periods by helping with various tasks as required. Skills Proficient in food preparation techniques and understanding of cooking processes. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a restaurant setting. Strong communication skills to effectively relay information between kitchen and service staff. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred, including roles such as cook or server.
