Full Job Description Job Summary:

The Steward is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. This role supports the culinary team by ensuring that all kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils are properly cleaned and sanitized, while also assisting in food preparation tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Dishwashing & Sanitation:

Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Manually wash items as needed, ensuring all kitchenware is spotless and hygienic. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area and throughout the kitchen.

Kitchen Support:

Assist kitchen staff in food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and organizing supplies. Deliver clean dishes and utensils to the cooking and serving areas in a timely manner to support efficient service.

Inventory Management:

Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, ensuring the kitchen is always equipped with necessary items. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, maintaining organization in storage areas.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations in the kitchen. Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the kitchen manager.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other kitchen staff to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Assist in special cleaning projects and tasks as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred, but not required. Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude. Team-oriented with effective communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
