Head Chef Primary Job Function & Environment:

To act as Front of House Coordinator for a seasonal beach side restaurant serving lunch six days a week and dinner on Friday evenings. The restaurant operates from late June through Labor Day. The environment at Great Island is focused on family and quality services for homeowners and guests. Essential Duties (included but not limited to):

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing dining area
• Assist with daily setup and breakdown of the restaurant
• Handle payment transactions and order flow accurately using TOAST
• Updating and printing menus
• Communicating menus/specials to homeowners
• Friday night dinner reservations and table management
• Scheduling of staff to work ice cream station
• Provide administrative logistical support of kitchen
• Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or complaints
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
• Perform food expediter/runner duties

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a customer service or food service role preferred
• Excellent communication in English and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to solve problems and jump in when needed
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Physical Demands:

○ Ability to stand for extended periods of time ○ Ability to lift up to 25 pounds ○ Ability to bend, stoop, and reach

Work Schedule:

20-40 hours per week. Typically Tuesday

• Sunday, 9:30 am
• 4:00 pm and Friday evenings 4:00 pm
• 11:30 pm Hours subject to change depending on the level of business.

Compensation:

$18

• 20 per hour

Great Island is a summer-oriented residential community of approximately 600 acres in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts on the south shore of Cape Cod.
