ABOUT THIS CULINARY ROLE

Holy Cross Retreat House, North Easton, MA Schedule:

Casual, averaging 10 hours per week, Thursday prep day, and one weekend day retreat help (schedule flexible). As our casual Assistant Chef – Kitchen Helper, your day starts with the smell of fresh ingredients as you assist the head chef in meal preparation-chopping vegetables, following recipes, and ensuring everything is ready for service. You maintain a clean and organized kitchen, occasionally cook independently for day retreats, and support the upkeep of our retreat house garden. You might find yourself harvesting fresh produce, doing a quick grocery run, or preparing meals that adhere to specific dietary guidelines. Each day brings something new, requiring flexibility and a commitment to our mission of service and hospitality.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR ASSISTANT CHEF – KITCHEN HELPER

High school diploma or equivalent Experience working in a kitchen environment Basic oral and written communication skills Outstanding interpersonal communication skills Flexibility to adjust changing priorities Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision Commitment to maintaining a positive atmosphere for the retreat house
