JOB DESCRIPTION
Chewonki is a place where nature, community, and education come together to create transformative experiences for campers and staff alike. As a Summer Kitchen Expeditor, you’ll be at the heart of our food service operation, ensuring that meals are served efficiently, accurately, and with care.
What You’ll Do:
Be the bridge between our kitchen and service areas, coordinating meal delivery and buffet setup.
Serve wholesome, delicious meals to campers, staff, and guests while maintaining high-quality standards.
Ensure food safety and proper handling, organization, and storage of meals.
Communicate clearly with staff and campers regarding dietary needs and allergies.
Keep the kitchen and dining area spotless, following cleaning protocols and upholding Chewonki’s commitment to sustainability through proper waste reduction and composting.
Qualifications:
Minimum age of 17 and ability to pass a Criminal Background Check, required by the state of Maine.
A team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Someone with a strong work ethic who can adapt to a flexible schedule.
ServSafe® or Kitchen Expeditor certification is a plus!
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in hot conditions.
Willingness to live on-site and immerse yourself in the camp experience. Perks of the
