The Sushi Helper supports the sushi chefs in preparing fresh, high-quality ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring efficient service during meal periods. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Korean cuisine and eager to learn the craft of sushi making

Key Responsibilities:

Assist sushi chefs with prep work, including washing, slicing, and organizing fish, vegetables, and other ingredients Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of sushi prep area, tools, and refrigeration unit Restock ingredients and supplies throughout service as needed Help with plating and garnishing sushi dishes to maintain presentation standards Follow all food safety and hygiene standards as required by the health department and restaurant policies Communicate effectively with chefs and other kitchen staff to support a smooth workflow Occasionally assist with customer-facing roles such as delivering dishes or answering questions (if required) •

Qualifications:

Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required; sushi-specific experience is a plus Basic knife skills (advanced preferred) and willingness to learn proper techniques Ability to follow directions, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail Flexible schedule and availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
