Experience 0 – 1 years Make a Splash in Your Career! Join the Life Sciences team at the St. Louis Aquarium and play a vital role in caring for the animals that make our exhibits extraordinary. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, dependable individual to join us as a Food Preparer, preparing specialized diets for a variety of aquatic and terrestrial species. This behind-the-scenes role is essential to the health and wellbeing of the animals in our care, and no two days are the same!

What You’ll Do:

Prepare and portion daily animal diets following species-specific guidelines.
Order and rotate food inventory, monitor expiration dates, and inspect all incoming food for quality.
Keep food storage and preparation areas, including walk-in refrigerators and freezers, clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety standards.
Assist with back-of-house duties and general husbandry support as needed.
Work closely with the Life Sciences team to ensure animal care operations meet the highest standards.
Support conservation, education, and guest engagement efforts across the facility.

What We’re Looking For:

Prior food handling or preparation experience preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in cold environments (e.g. walk-in freezers).
