Job Description

Catering Kitchen Prep Chef Southern Harvest Hospitatlity Group 401 East Center Street, Mebane, NC 27302 Overview We are seeking an experienced dedicated and passionate kitchen prep chef to join our world-class catering kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food service, with a keen understanding of food safety and handling practices and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment for catering events. They ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and menu specifications, and collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations,

Key Responsibilities :
Ingredient and Meal Preparation:

Washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing fruits, vegetables, and meats according to recipes and specifications.

Kitchen Organization:

Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by cleaning dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing food storage areas.

Food Safety & Sanitation:

Adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations.

Inventory Management:

Assisting with stock and inventory management, including tracking food levels and resupplying.

Collaboration:

Working with other kitchen staff, including line cooks and chefs, to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.

Recipe Adherence:

Preparing food items according to recipes and menu specifications.

Timely Preparation:

Ensuring food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.

Equipment Handling:

Using kitchen equipment, such as knives, slicers, and mixers, safely and efficiently.

Other Duties:

Performing other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or kitchen manager. Qualifications Proven experience in meal preparation, food handling, or as a dietary aide is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in menu planning and execution. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. A passion for cooking and providing exceptional food service experiences.
